๐๏ธ Video Compressor
Compress a video in your browser to make it smaller for sharing, uploading or emailing. Choose a quality level and an optional maximum height. The output is a new MP4 file; your original is never changed.
Runs entirely in your browser with FFmpeg.wasm. No upload, no account, no video stored anywhere, and no watermark added by this site.
๐ Drop a video here, or choose a file
MP4, MOV, WebM and other common video files. One file at a time. Files are processed in your browser only โ nothing is uploaded.
Choose videoBefore you press Process: the video engine is about 32 MB and downloads only when you press Process โ never on page load. Your video never leaves this device. No account, no artificial limit; speed depends on your device and browser.
How to use it
- Choose a video file.
- Pick a quality preset and, if you want, a maximum height such as 720p.
- Press Compress Video and wait for the engine to load (first use only) and process.
- Download the compressed MP4 and compare its real size with the original.
Supported formats and limitations
- Your video never leaves your device. Processing runs in your browser with FFmpeg.wasm; there is no upload, no account and no server copy.
- The video engine (about 32 MB) is downloaded only after you choose a file and press Process โ never automatically when the page loads.
- There is no artificial usage limit and no account. Real speed and maximum size depend on your device and browser: large or long videos are slower and may run out of browser memory. A warning is shown for very large files, but no file is hard-blocked for size alone.
- Compression re-encodes video, so very low quality settings visibly reduce sharpness. The result shows the real output size, never an estimated saving.
- Audio is re-encoded to AAC at 128 kbps.
- No artificial usage limit: capacity depends on your device and browser. Large or long videos are slower and may run out of browser memory.
Frequently asked questions
Will compressing reduce quality?
Yes, to some degree. Compression works by discarding detail. Use a higher quality setting (lower CRF number) when sharpness matters and a lower setting when file size matters most.
Is there a file size limit?
No artificial limit is set. In practice, browser memory and your device decide what works. Long 4K videos may be too large for a phone browser; try a shorter clip or a lower height first.
Do you upload my video?
No. The file stays on your device and is processed locally in your browser.
